【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardsetsouttheproceduresfortheallocationofOSINetworkLayeraddressesoftheISODCCformatwithintheUK.AddressesinthisformatmaybeusedasOSInetwork-addresses,OSINSAP-addresses,network-entity-titlesorforotherpurposesasdefinedinNetworkLayerstandards.IntheremainderofthisBritishStandard,referencestoformatsforOSInetwork-addressesaretobeunderstoodasapplyingequallytoallsuchuses.NOTE.ThesameformatsareapplicabletoallthetypesofNetworkLayeraddressdescribedabove.Fordetailsofthedifferencesofusageofaddressesofthesekinds,initialreferenceshouldbemadetothepartoftheOSIBasicReferenceModelthatdealswithnamingandaddressing,BSISO7498-3,totheTutorialonNamingandAddressing,BSISO/IECTR10730,totheOSINetworkServiceDefinition,BSISO/IEC8348,andtotheIntra-DomainRouteingProtocol,BSISO/IEC10589.Briefly,exceptwheregenericaddressingisused:-anOSInetwork-addressidentifiesatransport-entitybyidentifyingthesetofNSAPsthatprovideaccesstoatransport-entity;-anOSINSAP-addressidentifiesasingleNSAP;-anetwork-entity-titleidentifiesanetwork-entity(andisusedinNetworkLayerrouteing).Owingtodifferencesindatesofissue,notallpublishedNetworkLayerstandardsmaymakethesedistinctions;inparticular'network-address'isnotalwaysdistinguishedfrom'NSAPaddress'.ThestandardforOSINetworkLayerAddressing(BSISO/IEC8348:1993)specifiesanumberofformatsofOSINetworkLayeraddressandestablishesISOasthetop-levelRegistrationAuthorityforallOSINetworkLayeraddresses.OneoftheaddressformatsistheISODCCformat;and,forthatformatspecifically,annexAofBSISO/IEC8348:1993allocatesaportionoftheglobaladdressspacetotheUKandassignsresponsibilityforthesub-allocationofthatportion,withintheUK,toBSIastheUKP-memberofISO.AUKRegistrationAuthority(UKRA)hasbeenappointedundertheauthorityoftheBoardofBSItoadministerthisallocation.Thestandarddefinesthethreecomponentelementsofthescheme,namely:a)thespecificationoftheformatsoftheaddressesallocated:theaddressstructure;b)theprinciplesofoperationoftheschemeandtheroleoftheUKRegistrationAuthority(UKRA)andotherbodiestowhichresponsibilityforitsoperationhasbeenassigned:theadministrationofthescheme;c)thesetofadministrativeproceduresbywhichallocationsarerequestedandsubsequentlycontrolled:theprocedures.Thestandarddoesnotspecifyhowtheaddressesaretobeencodedinprotocol.ThestandardappliestotheallocationanduseofallOSINetworkLayeraddressesoftheISODCCvarietyallocatedtotheUKbyISOinitscapacityasRegistrationAuthorityforOSINetworkLayeraddressesasawhole.Itappliestosuchaddresseswhereverandwhenevertheyareused,irrespectiveofthepurposeormanneroftheiruse.Thereforeallsuchaddressesareallocatedaccordingtotheproceduressetoutinthisstandard.
